As part of its fact-finding in the East Midlands, on Tuesday 10 July 2018, the Great Places Commission visited Nottingham, and in particular 'Lenton Green' the Nottingham City Homes newly completed redevelopment of the Lenton high rise flats site.

The visit included lunch at Thomas Helwys Baptist Church, presentations and talks at Palmer Court, and a walking tour of Lenton Green with opportunities for the Commission to meet residents.

The visit to Nottingham ended with a community workshop at the New Art Exchange.

A member of the NAG was invited to talk to the Commission about the NAG, the work it has been doing, and balance and sustainability of the neighbourhoods in Lenton.

The talk can be downloaded here:

The NAG has followed the story of the demolition of the Lenton high rise flats from the beginning and articles about the demolition, the design, and the redevelopment, together with a NAG meeting which was held at Palmer Court, can be found in the 'Key Issues' section of this website ('Building Neighbourhoods' and 'Changing Lenton') and links therein.
