A meeting of the City Council's Executive Board on 19 February 2013 is set to approve plans to build 142 new homes on the site of the Lenton flats by 2016 to 2017.

Demolition work on the five tower blocks, which have dominated the Lenton skyline since the 1960's has already begun. One block - Lenton Court - is now virtually empty and work to demolish that block is due to start in March 2013.

Nottingham City Homes Chief Executive, Nick Murphy, said: 'We are delighted to be working with the city council to deliver these ambitious plans to transform our neighbourhoods, creating homes and places where people want to live. ...'
