SALE OF DUNKIRK FIRE STATION SITE ANNOUNCED

Nottingham City Council and the Fire Authority have sold the site of the former Dunkirk Fire Station to the Department for Education (DfE) and the Education Funding Agency (EFA), This paves the way for the redevelopment of the site to house the Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology.

The Academy will provide specialist education and work-related opportunities for students who want to make a career in science, technology, engineering and maths, or pursue further study at university.

The Academy will be run by a trust made up of Nottingham University, the Djanogly Learning Trust and Toshiba, with support from other employers in the East Midlands, including Siemens, Boots and Rolls Royce.
