NOTTINGHAM ACTION GROUP ON HMOs
Open Meetings Autumn 2014
 

WEDNESDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2014

6.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the Function Room, Rose & Crown, Derby Road, Lenton

Topics for the evening will include:

  • a presentation on 'Stop and Search' by officers from Nottinghamshire Police, the myths and the realities associated with this sometimes controversial power
  • up-dates from Nottingham's Community Protection team, including how the new Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 can affect their (and the Police's) response to problems with such things as noise.*
  • a catch-up by Nottingham City Council's Environmental Health HMO team on matters relating to HMOs, including enforcement action they have taken, and the implementation of additional licensing.

In addition, Ward Councillors and representatives from Nottingham's universities and from Unipol have been invited.

As always the meeting is open to everyone and your questions, comments and views are welcome.

In addition to inviting Councillors, Council officers, representatives from the Police and Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University to the meeting, the NAG has invited Nottingham University's Students' Union to showcase some of the projects which featured in its May 2014 Volunteering Awards.

AND ...

Also representatices from Nottingham Hospitals Charity and the Trauma Centre will be coming along to the meeting to talk about the East Midlands region Major Trauma Centre, based at the QMC, and to launch its appeal for funding for an on-site helipad at the QMC.
