To All Residents Living in the Dunkirk Road, Warwick Street & Abbey Street Area

Nottingham City Council is planning to have a deep clean in the Dunkirk Road, Warwick Street and Abbey Street area on Thursday 22 June 2017.

Streetscene, Community Protection Officers, NUAST pupils and your local Councillors Dave Trimble and Sarah Piper will be dedicating time to improve the Streets by pursuing a number of improvements including a full-scale litter and rubbish clearance, door knocking to speak to residents and students, reinforcing messages on waste management and taking responsibility for the neighbourhood.

I am writing to ask for your support in helping to improve the appearance and feel of the streets where you live. Come and support us on this day and help us to improve Dunkirk Rd, Warwick St, Cloister St and Abbey St. If you would like any further information on how to become involved, please contact Iffat Iqbal, Neighbourhood Development Officer (Tel: 0115 8838469, e-Mail: or turn up on the day outside NUAST from 10.00am onwards.

We believe everyone should live in a clean environment.  It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our streets clean, but the irresponsible few spoil it for the rest and leave rubbish in our streets. You can be fined £75 for dropping litter, £70 for failing to clean up after your dog and £300 for dumping rubbish.  You can report anyone doing any of these things in confidence by calling 0115 9152000 or online at

To help keep Nottingham Clean the Council offers

  • A free bulky waste service when you pre-arrange it by going on line at, or you can call 0115 9152000;
  • a free recycling service through your recycling bin and your garden bin which is collected from April to October.
