Government grant funding for Nottingham City Council  has been reduced by two thirds from £126.8 million in 2013/14 to £44.5 million in 2017/18.

Demand for vital services, such as social care for elderly people, is increasing year on year but there has been a national shift towards local taxpayers footing the bill.

The City Council has had to make over £232 million in savings over the last seven years and needs to make a further £27 million as part of budget proposals for 2018/19.
